Business Profile

Established in 1993, Nippon UK provide quality martial arts tuition to tens of thousands of students, of all ages across the country. Teaching in over 300 schools and venues, the team at Nippon UK continues to follow the true ethos of martial arts.

Nippon UK was established in 1993 by Senior
Coach Colin Jones. After studying Ju Jitsu from
the age of three and being fortunate to travel to a
great number of countries both competing and
teaching, Colin was offered a full-time teaching
position with The World Ju Jitsu Federation aged
seventeen. After a number of very happy years
working for his Sensei Professor Robert Clark,
Colin felt that his apprenticeship had been served
and created Nippon UK.

From very humble beginnings Nippon UK was born.
Purchasing a very old transit van and rescuing a
set of condemned mats from a school skip, Colin
approached five church halls in five different towns.
Honouring his agreement with his Sensei not to establish
any classes within a ten mile radius of his original club in
Liverpool for a minimum of twelve months, Nippon UK's
first classes were established in Longridge, Lytham, Kirkham,
Blackpool and Tarleton.

Over the following years, Nippon UK has always stuck
to its original ethos that Martial Arts is not simply a way
of teaching children to fight and encourage them to become
tough guys. On the contrary, the role of a Nippon UK Martial
Arts Instructor is to encourage our children to develop life
skills such as confidence, self-respect, self-discipline and above
all respect for others.

By abiding by this ethos Nippon UK has built up a fantastic
reputationworking with over three hundred schools and their children.

The present day sees Nippon UK with a membership admired
and envied by most other Martial Art organisations. With a
fantastic team of professional, full-time and fully qualified
Martial Arts Instructors there is no doubt that we will continue
to grow, develop and progress.
