Front Loading Electrric Kilns Front loaders, traditionally derived from industry, built to work and last, our front loaders are among the finest in the business.

Front loaders are a big favourite, as most things in our domestic life are front loading - cupboards, fridges, washing machines etc. Just as economical as top loaders to fire. Relatively slow to cool - good for pot/ware.

Choose your size or sizes and let's talk. View the kiln as the brawn and the controller as the brain. The kiln will come fitted with a harting socket (male/female socket connecting kiln and controller.) making choosing a controller at point of delivery/collection a much easier option than choosing from the brochure.

Auto damping as apposed to manual damping is available on any 10 programme controller.

As all units are hand made, a choice of hearth height is available, as is choice of which side the door is hinged on.

We offer Custom built sizes, often at no extra cost.

Top Loading Electric Kilns Top loaders are relatively new on the ceramics scene. They were first introduced as a disposable kiln - yes! use it and throw it away! They were built with minimal, but highly efficient insulation, minimal steel and could be very fast to fire - great if your pots can stand it or are small (not so many stresses across the piece). They also cooled quickly - not always a good thing. However the British, being what we are, took the concept and improved it to the hybrid we see today.

Top loaders offer excellent interior area per £ better than the more industrially derived front loaders.

Our top loaders are built standardly in 3 heights 18'' (2 bricks) 22 1/2'' (2 1/2 bricks) and 27'' (3 bricks) high.
