Business Profile

Fulwood Academy, a community that is committed to and passionate about, young people’s entitlement to the very best education. At the heart of the Academy’s vision is our sponsor’s insight that young people will learn more effectively if they are happy and secure.

Our Academy engages young people and their families to support exceptional achievement and strong personal development. Students feel supported emotionally as well as academically within an ethos and culture in which all students flourish and feel safe. We have a talented and dynamic staff, dedicated to the enrichment of our students’ experience. We offer a unique provision for Fulwood students through extensive extra-curricular opportunities and extended learning opportunities through our ‘Virtual Academy’. Students who join our Academy will engage in an education for the 21st Century that is second to none.

Our underpinning values of courage, compassion, honesty, integrity, respect and responsibility encourage a strong sense of community, shared purpose and commitment to the highest possible standards for each individual. The House system is a key feature of Fulwood Academy’s pastoral care and is both an over arching strength, and a driving force for academic progress and extended school activities. House activities play a central role in the wider development of students, promote service to others and develop student leadership – a major strand in the developing maturity of Fulwood students. We value our partnership with parents, who have a major role to play in supporting their children’s success. The Governors’ policies for the Academy are available on this website as well as from the Academy. They are reviewed annually and cover all the areas that will be of interest to parents, including admissions, behaviour for learning, anti-bullying, child protection and complaints.

"decided to stay for our Sixth Form at Fulwood because we knew how supportive our teachers would be"

"We decided to stay for our Sixth Form at Fulwood because we knew how supportive our teachers would be. A Levels in particular are difficult and we wanted to be in an environment with small class sizes. We are now looking forward to the next stage of our careers at university and believe that the Academy has prepared us for our futures.”"

Waqar, Student on 15 July 2014

"provides a place of learning and of enjoyment as shown by our extra-curricular activities"

"Being at the Sixth Form opens many doors to many opportunities. I am preparing for a two week trip to Morocco with the World Challenge to partake in activities that help the local communities. It provides a place of learning and of enjoyment as shown by our extra-curricular activities – I am in the Academy’s production every year. Staying at the Sixth Form is the best decision I have made"

Yasemin, Student on 15 July 2014

"I am very pleased that my daughter chose to stay at the Academy"

"The Academy has provided my daughter with all the help and support she needed throughout the Sixth Form. She has carried on with activities she has always enjoyed and been given new opportunities such as a work placement in Parliament. I am grateful to all staff for making this happen. I am very pleased that my daughter chose to stay at the Academy."

Mr El-Haroun, parent on 15 July 2014
